No one can deny the fact that Megan Fox is incredible. But her hair tonight at the MTV Movie Awards was HORRIFIC. Greasy slicked back hair is not ok, I don't care who you are or what you look like.
WARNING: If you are watching this from your cubicle VOLUME DOWN.
It's no secret that I'm a fan of the Non-Society girls. For me the allure is not what they say, but the platform they have created to say it. Julia Allison has definitely been the trail blazer for me and countless other girls who are striving to achieve "internet fame". Love her or hate her, you can't deny she knows how to play the game.

Passion Pit's new CD, Manners, came out on the 19th. I just downloaded the entire album and I am pretty confident that it is going to be my summer sound track.
We already know I love Sleepyhead. So if you are going to download a few others I would go with Little Secrets, The Reeling, and To Kingdom Come.

I've been receiving a ton of question as the whether jumpers are an appropriate choice for a wedding. We are just a few weeks into wedding season and I am already hearing reports of jumpers being worn to both day and night weddings. My verdict is still out on this. To take a page from Mary Rambin, I agree that if you are single it is ok to stand out at a wedding...but at the end of the day do you want to be the girl wearing pants? If you are going to try and attempt this you need to do it like Chloë Sevigny did here. Bottom line.
I think that Chloë Sevigny will go down in history as one of the greatest fashion icons of our time. She walks that fine line of being fashion forward without taking it too over the top, the way many celbs do. I wouldn't expect anything less from a girl raised in Fairfield County. Check out the images from her Elle photo shoot.
I found love this morning on New York Magazine's Blog, The Cut. They showcased these incredible snake skin sandals by British label F-Troupe. Available online or at Gargyle.

Since Gossip Girl is TBC, I had to find a way to get my Chuck Bass fix. In a search for my blest Bass I came across the most amazing website, What Chuck Wore. The entire site is filled with stills from the show with hysterical commentary underneath. Worth a quick morning scroll for sure.

This past week was upfronts in Manhattan. Upfronts are where all the television networks pitch their new shows and prime time fall schedules to advertisers. Along with upfronts comes a lot of parties. Last week I attended Hamptons Magazine summer kick off party with the cast of USA's new show Royal Pains at Hudson Terrace. I spent the night sipping on Tequila Fresco's and enjoying the perfect summer night. Everyone had a great time, including the cast. Mark Feuerstein and Paulo Costanzo, who play brothers on the show, were having a blast with the step-and-repeat. You can tell just by watching them interact that they are actually friends and I am sure that carries over on the show. I can't wait for the premiere on June 4th at 10p.m. on USA. If the show is half as good as the party was I've just found my summer obession. Set your dvr's!
So I was reading CNN.com (ok, fine, reading Guest of a Guest and they had a link to CNN...but whatever) and I came across an article that gives me hope that a Hamptons summer share might not be completely out of the question. The article, Recession Cools off the Hamptons as a Hot Getaway Spot, talks about how high priced Hamptons real estate isn't moving and now owners are making their houses available for weekly rentals. "Usually, you could very rarely get a rental for less than a month. Now you're seeing people rent for a week or two weeks." Check it out, call a local agent, make it happen.
Check out Atlantic Beach Realty Group for the last of the weekly rentals:

Over the past year my love for Fink has just continued to grow. Fink now holds the spot in my heart I once reserved for Citizen Cope. Their new album, Sort of Revolution, is available on i-Tunes today. I just purchased the entire things. I want to stay up all night and listen to it! Yes, Fink, yes... to every single track.

Today was day 2 of my mission to eat dinner on the water every day this week! Tonight my family and I took our boat up Sagatuck River in Westport to the newly renovated River House. Their location could not be any more perfect. They have these incredible floor to ceiling windows that enable you to get the whole view. For dinner I had a wedge of ice berg, diver scallops, and a bloody mary...extra spicy, please. It was the perfect meal. Now I am sunburned and stuffed... just the way every night this summer should end.

Call me crazy, but I have a huge crush on Larry David. I have been very patient waiting for new episodes of Curb and was just about to give up a Larry all together. Then I stumbled upon the trailer for a new Woody Allen movie that he is staring in called Whatever Works, and just like that it's LOVE again. I can't wait to see this. I love Larry David. I love New York. And I'm pretty confident I'm going to love this movie.
"I used to think I wanted to make a living off my art, I lived off my art for a while, and realized it wasn't enough to make a living. Now, I think that making art is living, and living is making art."
These are the words of Ashley Tanno, an amazing young artist based out of Norwalk, CT. On her Etsy sight you can find a ton of great clutches made out of vintage fabrics, along with some of her artwork. The clutches are great and really reasonably priced. Perfect for summer. And for the record I am completely obsessed with the oil painting above, In the End.
Definitely check out her site:

After posting an image of my weather widget on facebook at 7 am this morning, I've decided that dinner must be eaten on the water everyday this week, as a homage to the weather gods. Tonight my friend Jenny (or as we like to call her "Boom-Boom") hosted the A-girls at her beach house for a pre-Memorial day dinner. The background noise was a perfect blend of vintage Aqualung and crashing waves. Dinner was a 4-days-till-bathing-suit-friendly salad and spring vegetables...oh, and sangria... lots of sangria. It was a perfect way to start the weekend. Apparently I'm off to an early start.
If you watched Kelly Cutrone's video you know that bangles are the hot summer trend. I was happy to see that my fashion forward best friend/nutritionist, Ashley B. Christie, had her arms stacked with amazing African beaded bangles. The bangles were all made by Kenyan women participating in The Thorn Tree Project, a non-profit established to help the nomadic people of Sereolipi in the northern arid lands of Kenya. Thorn Tree Project in 2005 launched their "bracelet project" where bracelets are sold and the profit all goes to the building of schools in Kenya. To participate in the "bracelet project" and be up on the summer trend, make your way to Clodagh, where the bangles are currently being sold.
Earlier this week I mentioned the absence of Mary Rambin under contributing editors for Non-Society. Non-Society was originally composed of Mary Rambin, Julia Allison, and Meghan Asha. The three of them together kept daily life blogs, along with webisodes they call TMI Weekly. Being my nosy self, I sent Rambin an @reply asking her what the story was behind the split. Here is the response I got:
Based on that reply, I am left to assume that Rambin has broken away from the Non-Society life blog completely, but will continue to participate in the TMI Weekly. Rambin now has an independent life blog, More than Mary. The Non-Society life blogs feel incomplete without a third. I think they should start looking for a replacement immediately. Don't we think I would be perfect for it?

Wondered what Lauren Conrad will be doing now that her stint with The Hills is over? Apparently she has written/is writing a three book young-adult series called L.A. Candy. Teen Vogue posted a except from the "novel". One would think that they would print some of the books better content... here is a sample of what we got:

Ever since my Mother told me that Joey's by the Shore was voted best lobster rolls in Westport it's been at the top of my to-do list. Since it's a perfect 75 degrees on the water here, I figured today was as good a day as any! The entire way to Joey's I held my breath while praying to the seafood God's that this lobster roll was chunks of lobster smothered in melted butter and not some lobster salad nonsense. Happy to report that my prayers were answered. If you want a good lobster roll south of Kennebunkport, Joey's by the Shore is the place to go!
Kiss and Type Lobster Roll tour anyone? Next stop, Rowayton Seafood for their new lobster roll sliders. Welcome back summer, you've been missed!

Remember back in April when I said I was in love with this look from Lucky Magazine? Funny thing, DVF's Iridescent Seersucker Jacket is still slightly out of my price range. Weird. But Anthropologie did just get in this Fine Line Blouse, which is the closest I've come yet. I just really wish it didn't tie around the back. If you want perfection though, you are going to have to shell out the $285 for the DVF jacket... if not this is a great alternative for $78.
Whats missing from this picture? Can't figure it out? It's Mary Rambin! There must be some major changes going on over at Non-Society, yet I can't find a single mention of any of this on the site or anywhere else for that matter. Not only is her picture missing from the contributing editors list but the text also says, "It's just the two of us...".
This season I am having a love affair with neutrals. Net-a-Porter.com is great because it allows you to shop by color. Every couple of days I like to check in and see what's new. This time I found this incredible Alice + Olivia Elyse Silk Dress (top Right) and a Kain Silk-bend T-Shirt (bottom Right). If I could live in over priced- over sized- sheer-neutral T's, I would, just in case there was ever any doubt.
If you are anything like me, you've unsuccessfully attempted to stashed a few tooth brushes across Manhattan. Never really knowing where I'm going to wake up causes a problem, especially when nights turn into mornings, which turn into brunch, followed by afternoon drinks, and then dinner. Sound familiar? Then you need to check out the new Colgate Wisp. A Wisp is a small, clutch size, disposable tooth brush. How did we ever live without this? I fully intend on adding a Wisp to every bag I own, and you should too.

Lindsay Lohan channeled Marilyn Monroe. Again. This time for the cover of Spanish Vogue. I also read a rumor that she has signed on for an independent comedy. Looks like she's on the up and up. Before you know it she'll be dating men again!

First, and most importantly, this Friday we welcomed into the world the newest edition to our family, 7 lbs 9 oz. baby Gavin! It was such an amazing day. One second my Step-Mother is pregnant, the next there is a whole new life in the room. It's the type of concept you think you've wrapped your head around but then it actually happens and you are blown completely away. The whole thing went off without a hitch. Four solid pushes and 22 minutes later he was out. It all happened quicker then watching a dvr-ed episode of The Hills. When we walked in the delivery room my Step-Mom said she felt like she could run 5 miles, and knowing her, if the doctor would have let her she would have! The rest of the weekend was spent falling head over heels in love with new baby Gavin and thinking how fortunate I am for my family. Welcome to the world and to our family Baby Gavin.
As if the birth of a new baby wasn't enough, I also fit my college graduation into this weekend. The fact that I actually graduated is a huge deal. How do I say this... college wasn't exactly the easiest thing for me to accomplish. The Facts: finishing school took me all of 6 years, 5 jobs, 3 internships, 3 schools, 2 boyfriends, and about 15 pounds. So what happened? Never really being excited by school I figured if I had to go I would apply the concept of "go big or go home", and off I went to Arizona State. Now, for a girl who wasn't really, lets say, "focused", would you suggest Arizona State? No. Of course not. But I've never been a good listener. So it ended up taking me 3 years and (brace yourself) 24 credits, to realize I was never going to graduate if I stayed. And with that conclusion, I decided it was time to go home. And even though there were times when hope was lost, somehow I managed to pull it all together in the end. And by somehow, I mean with the support of my friends and family who have given endless pep-talks and inspirational speeches along the way. So I am happy to report that as of this past Sunday I am a University of Connecticut alumni.
And there you have it. My weekend of Beautiful Changes.

I stopped off at Target this week to pick up more of those Mossimo cotton razor back dresses I can't seem to get enough of. I normally never check out Target's shoe selection, but for some reason on this particular day I was inclined to see what they had to offer. Most of them were total junk, but there, in the chaos of shoes boxes strewn on the floor and oddly attached together with these plastic ties, was EXACTLY what I've been looking for; a simple black thick band heel. I know they don't look like much in these pictures, but I promise you they are amazing. This Saturday I attended the opening of Butterfield 8 in Stamford. It was totally last minute, so I had nothing to wear. Luckily I had picked up these shoes earlier this week. I rocked them with a little black mini-dress and felt that my outfit was complete. They were incredibly comfortable too. Who knew? $30 shoes from Target would such a hit. Total must buy.
Mossimo Pari Sandals $29.99
Last week the temperature hit almost 80 degrees and I was suddenly in a state of panic. Am I the only person that missed all of March and April? Determined to be bikini ready by boat season I did what every reasonable 23 year old girl would do. I called my homeopathic doctor/ nutritionist to have him put me on one of those "detox" cleanses. The idea though is not to loose weight (but I figure if this is forcing me to cut dairy, sugar, and processed carbs I have to drop those 5 lbs i've been dying to get rid of... right?).
I sat down with Dr. Mark (the MD/ND) 2 weeks ago and he made me a list of foods I can and cannot eat. Both rice and fish were on there... BINGO. Living on sushi for 2 weeks wouldn't be a problem. There was a catch though, it had to be BROWN RICE sushi. What is the difference between brown and white rice? White rice is brown rice that has had the bran covering removed, removing with it the brown color. Brown rice still have the bran intact so it has more fiber than white rice. It also has nutrients like magnesium and zinc (white rich has much lower levels of both). Think wonder bread vs. whole grain bread.
For two weeks all I ate was brown rice sushi, and it made a believer out of me. Usually no matter how much sushi I eat a few hours later I am starving. With the brown rice sushi I stayed full all night. If you can find a place that has mastered keeping the rice sticky then I suggest you give it a try. If you are grabbing a quick sushi lunch on the go try Whole Foods. So far they have had the best out of everywhere I've tried. In my experience some restaurants are a little hesitant because they are worried it won't stick together. With this, its all in the preparation.
Here are some Whole Foods locations if you are daring enough to make the switch:

Based on my posts this week its clear that I'm on a mission for a jumper. I've personally tried both of these on, and let me tell you, its all love. Had I not just written a pretty hefty check for a Nantucket share, they would both be mine.
Ruffled Jumper $218
Two-Birds Romper $128
Found where? Evidently at the same place you can find 33% my money... ANTHROPOLOGIE.
